Our mission is to honor and support our veterans through the power of music, fostering community, and celebrating their service with original compositions that reflect the spirit of patriotism and gratitude.
WHERE IT BEGAN
In the aftermath of the World Trade Center tragedy, Mickey Yaccarino - a local barber with a lifelong passion for music - sat alone late one night with his acoustic guitar.
As his fingers found the strings, the words began to flow. That night, "Thank You for Serving" was born - a heartfelt tribute to members of our military, police officers, first responders, and all who have dedicated their lives, and sometimes given their lives, in service to others.
Mickey's friend Joanne Baiano, who holds a master's degree in music, recognized the song's promise and helped arrange the piece. Under her skilled guidance, it grew into what many listeners have described as having the timeless quality of an American classic.
The song was professionally recorded at Shorefire Recording Studios in Long Branch, New Jersey. The musicians understood its deeper purpose, and each generously contributed their talents without accepting payment.
"Thank You for Serving" made its public debut at a VFW post in Asbury Park, New Jersey. The response was overwhelming. Veterans were moved to tears by its message of gratitude, honor, and respect.

OUR MISSION
That unforgettable experience inspired HeroesAndPatriots.com - a mission dedicated to honoring and supporting the people who serve our country and our communities.
Through music, poetry, visual art, and other creative work, we hope to raise awareness and support for military personnel, veterans, police officers, first responders, and their families.
Mickey is developing a concept album in which every song speaks to a different part of the service experience: separation from loved ones, the emotional effects of combat, post-traumatic stress, the bonds formed in the field, and the heartbreaking issue of service-related suicide.
The Girl Can't Do It
An answer to the traditional "Dear John letter," told from a different and deeply personal point of view.
Band of Brothers
A reflection on the powerful, unbreakable bond formed among those who serve together in battle.
Soldier's Prayer
An original song by Dan Griffin honoring those who served and gave everything for their country.
